Issue 08: Summer in the City (PDF Download)
Illegal barbecues and warm beer, these motifs coloured the urban summers of my early twenties. And though my friends and I may look back on these remembrances with misty eyes, I’m secretly quite glad we’ve moved on, though the change is not entirely down to our personal growth. The city itself has become a more exciting place to spend summer. This year’s ‘SUMMER IN THE CITY’ print issue is proof of a more evolved outlook… both mine, and London’s.
What we’ve really tried to highlight are the possibilities for exploration, adventure, and closeness with nature. For everything that’s on offer in London, it’s not always obvious how to find peace and joy here. We hope this issue helps you do just that.
Thanks to those who were part of this issue, thanks to Arts Council England for supporting us with a grant, and a special thanks to everyone who participated in our open-call illustration & artwork competition. (Our phenomenal front cover is courtesy of our winner, Daryl Rainbow).
