That Which Is Linked Together, By Matthew F. Fisher
In this work by Matthew F Fisher, a mythological moon sits against the backdrop of a naked blue sphere.
This is an almost unrecognisable planet Earth, and it calls to the viewer on an existential level, calling, crooning. Matthew uses the contrast of a personified moon and empty Earth to explore the notion of cosmological order and exposes the arbitrary meanings assigned by us to celestial bodies. By deconstructing the one planet we know best, he reminds us that labelling and personifying are quintessential human activities, in his series, ‘Time and Space.’
