Summer in the City: Illustration Competition

There’s always that one day in Spring: the air relaxes, greets skin with a warm touch; the sun shines longer, burns brighter, rises higher; people begin to stroll and life slows. Summer, begins to show. London isn’t always the first place we think of to spend the hot months, but it does have a particular charm…

For Issue 8 of LONDNR, we are offering aspiring and emerging illustrators an incredible opportunity.

What do you have to do? Just illustrate what Summer in London means to you!

The winner will be announced on the release day of Issue 8.

TIMELINE:

Launch: 13th March 2023

Close: 8th May 2023

JUDGES: LONDNR Team, Pollock’s Toy Museum, TBC 

WINNER:

The winner will get their design on the front cover of LONDNR’s Issue 8 print magazine, which will have 10,000 copies produced and distributed across the city in some of the most famous buildings (like the Gherkin), most famous company headquarters (like ITV and Saatchi & Saatchi), and iconic locations like on the Eurostar and the Fashion & Textile Museum. 

There will also be a one-off cash prize of £150.

3 RUNNER’s UP:

Will have their work printed inside Issue 8 as full-page illustrations.

20 LONG-LIST:

All long-listed illustrators will be featured on LONDNR.com, and across all our social media channels. 

Please send your illustration to grace@londnr.com with the subject as ‘Illustration Submission 2023’. In the email please send us your name, age and location (please note this competition is only open to people in Greater London area) and how you found out about us.

Vital updates and winner announcements will be shared in our newsletter, so make sure to subscribe before you submit any work. 

Terms and Conditions:

1. You must live in Greater London.
2. Entries must be your own work and previously unpublished.
3. Multiple entries are permitted. One entry per email.
4. Entrants grant LONDNR Magazine an exclusive licence to reproduce artwork for use in Issue 08, throughout web presence and printed media publicity. Any third party submitting an entry (i.e. agent) is responsible for contacting the copyright holder to ensure their consent to these terms.
5. LONDNR reserves the right to make final adjustments to the work prior to publication e.g. dimensions and colour grading.
6. Entrants consent to their work and chosen name being used across LONDNR platforms, in promotional materials, for grant applications or investment plans, if applicable.
7. Last entry 8th of May 2023 at midday.
