Summer may be over… But this autumn brings us something new to swoon over! We’re delighted to announce that we’ll be an official media partner of MELT Week.
#poweredbyartists MELT week 2016, running from the 4th – 9th of October is an innovative programme run by pioneering art agency MTArt. MELT seeks to mix contemporary art with the reality of the cityscape around us. It’s a collaborative project which breaks art out of the box and hands it back to the public. With the participation of venues and spaces across the capital from the London Film School to Ace Hotel, and brand support from Kit & Ace and Flight Logistics amongst others, MTArt will be staging a series of installations, live performances, open talks, parties, speeches and exhibits, embracing it all! Kicking off MELT will be a performance on Regent’s Street itself, and at the conclusion of the week a discussion will be held at Kings College London.
MELT will allow young and emerging artists to showcase their merit, claiming their space in art – and in the world. Producing public art is exciting in its capacity for attracting wider exposure and bigger audiences, meaning artists can communicate better with their viewers and immerse themselves in their surroundings.
A list of the locations involved will be released in the form of a mobile-optimised digital map. Tour guides and ambassadors will be posted at each venue so you don’t miss a thing! Truly set to be an interactive experience that will engage you and challenge you and thrill you to your core; MELT Week seeks to re-integrate contemporary art into our London cityscape.
